Organized with Zoe-Ann Bartlett of Intentional Table, this extraordinary tour explored three distinct areas of Sicily to offer a rich and varied taste of the region’s food and wine culture.  After traveling through such a historic melding of cultures, flavors and architecture, we will not soon forget this hauntingly beautiful island.  A few of the sensory pleasures that we enjoyed:

  • Witnessed Sicily’s connection to exotic cultures from distant shores on private tours with tastings of various wines, breads, oils and seasonal products that meld tradition with innovation
  • Inhaled the fragrance of orange orchards in bloom under Etna’s smoking shadow
  • Strolled through Catania’s morning market with a local foodie archaeologist
  • Attended an exclusive cooking class with a locavore chef in the magical Baroque hilltop city of Ragusa
  • Gazed into the sparkling turquoise waters of a quaint tuna fishing village while meandering along the quays
  • Found a sense of place among Castelvetrano’s ancient olive trees during a private tasting lunch in the groves
