Delicious Pizza at Serious Pie

Pizza Night out in Seattle:  My first dinner at Serious Pie!

Why it’s taken me so long to get the memo about the amazing pizza that’s made at this cozy little place is beyond me. Never mind the wait…put your name on the list and walk a few steps down the block for some appetizers and refreshment while you envision the crust that awaits you.cured meats Not to mention the charcuterie cooler… A welcome sight upon entrance for anyone who adores house made prosciutto, pancetta and salami. The dining area is rustic family-style–my  favorite combination of elements–and since seating is limited, the noise level remains conducive to conversation.

When it comes to the menu, the hardest part will be deciding what to try first and, then, figuring out when and how many times you’ll be coming back so you can get to the rest! The drink offerings are solidly delicious but unpretentious, with just the right balance of beer, wine, soda and other beverages for you to find the flavor you’re looking to pair with your pizza. And pizza? Did you mean the one with potato-rosemary-pecorino, buffalo mozzarella-tomato sauce-fresh basil or Penn Cove clam-pancetta-lemon thyme? Buffalo mozzarella w/red sauce and basilThe pizza choices continue and the menu also includes tempting starters and desserts, but listing them now will just remind me of what I wasn’t able to sample after enjoying a beer and splitting two pizzas… More reasons to head back over with an empty stomach for happy hour.

On my way out, I noticed that they offer pizza classes featuring wine and cheese tastings–but they fill up months in advance, so my thought was that I’d have to recreate the experience at home, minus the wood-fired oven. I’ve already hosted one pizza night and will be sharing the details about the experience soon… stay posted!

  1. Yum! Great job! I really miss seeing you and the gals at class. Too much travel this spring for me to keep up on my Italian…but possibly this fall. In the meantime, I love reading your posts and fantasizing about my next trip to Italy.
